About The Author

Killian Frost writes modern fantasy where ordinary places hide teeth and secrets learn to speak. His stories live in the overlap between the everyday and the uncanny, where a hallway can feel too quiet, a rule can feel too hungry, and the world you think you know turns out to have a second heartbeat underneath it.

He lives off-grid in Arizona’s high country, where the land is stitched with juniper and piñon pine and the dark is the kind that changes your breathing. On clear nights there’s no glow on the horizon, no streetlight haze, nothing but stars and moonlight, bright enough to make shadows look like they’re thinking. The quiet can be its own presence too, especially when the night goes still, when there are no insects working their tiny engines and no frogs turning the darkness into background noise. In that silence, imagination doesn’t wander. It prowls.

Not far from his home lies the Navajo Nation, where stories carry weight and some legends are spoken of with a seriousness that makes you listen differently. It’s a landscape that teaches respect for what you can’t see, for what you shouldn’t call closer just to prove it exists. That sense of restraint and reverence finds its way into his fiction, where the supernatural isn’t a costume, it’s a pressure in the air.

Before writing full time, he worked as a zookeeper at the Phoenix Zoo with reptiles, which taught him respect for quiet predators and patient danger, the kind that doesn’t need to announce itself to be real. He’s also been a lifelong wolf lover, and the years he spent with his pet wolf, who passed away in 2014, left a lasting mark. Loyalty, pack-bonds, and the ache of absence often find their way into his characters, even when the stories wear fangs and shadows.

Billy Cadaver and the Problem with Being Twelve is the first book in an ongoing series.
